Training in massage

     Our Curriculum

      For The Province of Quebec it's Massotherapist 1 or Massothérapeute 1er degré. (Exemple) (1,100 ).

 

       The Massotherapist mastered one clinical massage technique such a Swedish, Sports, Chinese, Shiatsu, 

       Easlen, Alexender, Tragger, Californian, Rolfing, Polarity or other and has a good knoledge of hygiene,

       anatomy and physiology, sexology, various communication and relationship skills.

 

       The Massotherapist has completed a total of 1,100 hours of theory and practice, including massage history

        and Sexology.

  • 200 hours of study in basic anatomy and physiology: the cell and its components, the tissues, the skin, the muscles, the bones and the articulations, the nervous system and its organization, the senses, the blood, the cardio-vascular system and the lymphatic and immunizing system;

  • 50 hours of studies on the benefits and contraindications concerning the kind of technique in massage having been chosen as the subjct of study;

  • 400 hours of training in class on two techniques of massage (Swedish, Chinese, Shiatsu, Trager, etc.);

  • 75 hours of study on the movements pertaining to ligaments, muscles and bones;

  • 75 hours of study pertaining to the minor and contagious illnesses, the pathology of various diseases of the skin and the clinical hygiene;

  • 100 hours of study pertaining to listening and the professional ethic in the environment of intervention and sexology;

  • 150 hours of followed clinical practice , with explanatory file of the beneficiary and the application of a specific therapeutical massage;

  • 50 hours on the business office management.

Massotherapeute 2. (Quebec) or Massage Terapist (Canada).  2,000 hours  more or equivalent.

  • 150 hours in anatomy and physiology: the respiratory apparatus, the digestive system, the metabolism and the nutrition, the urinary system, the body fluids, the electrolyte, the basic acids and the male and female reproductive systems;

  • 250 hours of study and training in an additional technique of massage or a training in Kinesitherapy, Kiné or Kino, .naturopathy, osteopathy, physical therapy, etc.;

  • 200 hours (equivalent) presenting 20 files of various beneficiaries in treatment.

  • 100 hours in pathology of various systems and apparatus;

  • 150 hours in postural analysis;

  • 150 hours in diagnosis concerning the meridiens and the intervention points concerning the oriental medicine.
